5.2.4 Step 4
Once the reassignment of rights controller information aspect of the catalogue transfer has been completed and the acquiring record company has been able to:
Update the metadata about the releases that are the subject of the catalogue transfer and the resources contained in those releases in its system(s); and
Obtained resource files of those resources;
The acquiring record company should use the NewReleaseMessage
as defined in the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite Part 1: Definition of Messages, which can be found here, (or any other mechanism agreed between the acquiring record company and the DSP) to provide the DSP with updated metadata about the releases that are the subject of the catalogue transfer. This is depicted as step (5) in Figure 1.
If the acquiring record company chooses to assign any new identifiers to any entity described in the NewReleaseMessage
about the releases that are the subject of the catalogue transfer (for example, releases, resources, works or parties), the acquiring record company must include in the NewReleaseMessage
both those new identifiers and any old identifiers assigned to those entities that the acquiring record company has access to.
